Call of Duty: Ghosts is the best call of duty made since call of duty 4! The new game that has already broken the record for sales in a game surpassing GTA V with 1 billion$ in sales is good. I recently picked up the version for xbox 360 at a midnight launch for gamestop. I played the game for a week and hit prestige in multiplayer and made a couple appearances in extinction. See if its for you after the jump!
Campaign:
The campaign takes off on a whole new journey where you are followed along with a dog named riley and you are attatched to this dog from the first mission. The campaigns longer than usual and will be suspensful until you reach the end.
Multiplayer:
Infinity Ward finally got it right. This is the most balanced call of duty game in history. One thing to keep in mind here, the Key: Balance. Thats right, the development crew at IW took the feedback from the community and made the game as balanced as it can be. The game features no overpowered killstreaks (not even a lot of kill streaks worth using). The game is set up into 10 soldiers which you unlock one by one after maxing out a soldiers rank to 60. Yes there are only 60 levels per prestige but trust me it is the SLOWEST prestige ever. Levels 1-20 can feel like forever unless you have double xp codes which can be found on the boxes of 4-pack monster cans! The opening weekend was also double XP and i played the hell out of the game! i prestige within 20 hours of playtime and i was satisfied with that. The game features a new category of weapons known as the marksman rifles which fill the gap between assault rifles and snipers. Speaking of snipers a fan favorite from black ops is back; the L115! This weapon is a one hit kill from anywhere above the knee. That will shortly be buffed! ha. Anyways as you make your way through the levels you find yourself sinking into hours of gameplay without even knowing it. Multiplayer makes this game what it is. IW introduces a bunch of new game modes such as cranked, blitz, and search and rescue! Each of these game types has its own perks. Cranked is a personal favorite as you can rank up the quickest while receiving anywhere from 3,000xp to 7,000xp a match. The new load out system requires squad points to unlock new items. The Good: you can buy items no matter what level you are; The Bad: Squad points are a B**** to get. Squad points are ridiculous to acquire. A new aspect they added would be field orders. If you see a blue briefcase on the ground, pick it up, complete the order, and you are rewarded a care package. This care package can have anything from a SAT COM (UAV) to a K.E.M strike (MOAB) in it. The new M>O>A>B is referred to as a KEM strike. It is a 25 gun streak (Equipment can also be used) that destroys the whole enemy team and alters the map (Strikezone Only).
Gameplay/Graphics:
As always Call of Duty: Ghosts runs at 60 FPS on xbox 360 and PS3. The gameplay is super fluid and you will not see any frame drops even on a chaotic battlefield. The game requires a 2.5 GB install on a Microsoft certified hard drive (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A HARDDRIVE BEFORE BUYING THE GAME!!!! I MADE THE MISTAKE). Infinity ward added features such as leaning and running while reloading which makes the gameplay even faster! Call of Duty: Ghosts is a blast from the first hour of gameplay! The next-fen consoles are making this game look even better! Although the xbox one will only run the game at a scaled 1080P resolution, the naked eye cannot tell a difference between native and scaled at that resolution. The PS4 is also reported to have frame drops while playing multiplayer. so keep that in mind when picking a new console.
Extinction:
Infinity Ward is trying to come up with a killer for the popular "Zombies" from the Treayarch series. They came up with extinction. This game type is basically zombies, except with.... Aliens. YES ALIENS. Thats a shock IW but it very interesting to play. The game type is hours of fun but gets boring after playing the same map over and over again and becoming good at it. There is a rank up system for it though and you can choose a load out every new game you start!
Overall Score: 9/10
Call of Duty: Ghosts is by far my favorite game of the series. Its wicked multiplayer and action packed campaign makes this a game that I will play for the next 7 months. Looking forward to DLC and a new game style. Pick this game up for months of fun.
