Ipad Mini With Retina Display Overview (Hands-On)

Today i went ahead and purchased the new iPad mini that includes a retina display (finally). The device is taking over my current iPad air which i returned quickly after seeing that the new iPad mini had finally been released. There was a catch though. Apple only gave the consumers the option to use in-store pickup or order online for a 1-3 business day wait. I went with the "pick up in store" option. When I arrived at the apple store there were NO display models. It was like the device wasn't even out. But anyways i got my hands on it and heres the first look!

The picture shown above can show you how awesome the retina display is coming in at a crazy 2048x1536 on a 7.9 inch display which is equivalent to a pixel density of 326! Thats wild. This can be compared to the new Nexus 7 which as you know has a pretty great screen.

Apple is using the same chipset as the iPhone 5S. The Apple A7 processor followed by the M7 coprocessor lets you run iOS games no problem. Games such as blooms TD 5 and Infinity Blade III look awesome. You should expect nothing less anyways.

The camera is a decent 5 MP camera that shoots 1080P video and the front shooter is a FaceTime HD camera for FaceTime and or Skype calls. (Look for pictures in my FULL REVIEW coming soon)

Overall at first look this is going to beat the iPad air for me. The stronger pixel density really makes the screen look better and the A7 processor makes for a non-laggy experience. The specs are exactly the same as the iPad air but there is a 100$ price difference. If your into a smaller screen size, the mini is for you, but if you want your screen size for a bigger room for productivity then please get the iPad air as the 7.9 inch mini screen will not be for you. The iPad Mini is available now for 399$ online or for in-store pickup at your local apple store.
